Benefit Concert For Red Cross Is Event Monday
A capacity audience is expected at South Side High School Monday night when the members of the faculty of the Edith McIntosh School of Music give a concert for the benefit of the Rockville Centre chapter of the American Red Cross. Featured on the program will be Edith McIntosh and Erna Leutscher in duo piano numbers; George Por-ter Smith, concert violinist and con-ductor of the Nassau Philharmonic Orchestra; Elwyn Carter, soloist of the First Presbyterian Church or, New York City; Irma Harter, p'c anist; Suzanne Lecarpentier, celliF and Marion Bannerman, harpist, members of the conservatory fat. ulty. Proceeds of the concert will be turned over to the local chapter fund. Mrs. Richard R. Powell is general chairman. Program girls include: Jean Col-ley, Jean Blakely, Jean Emberton, Jane Gordy, Marguerite Holtz, Nina Meyer, Jean Phillips, Denise Shafter, Mary Stuart, and Elise Thompson. Ushering will be William Calvert, James Donaldson, Alan Dill, War-ren Hildebrand, Thomas Gibbs, Ar-thur B. Howe, John Little, William Morrow, Wallace Smith, and Mor-gan Thode.
