CENTRE PLAYERS NOTE MILESTONE
Play Tomorrow Night To Mark Close Of Group's First Decade
Completion of the first decade as a drama group will be marked by the Centre Players of Rockville Centre, when they present as their annual spring offering "Three-Cornered Moon" at the South Side High school auditorium, Rockville Centre, tomorrow night. The production will be pre-sented under the auspices of the Rockville Centre Recreation league which annually conducts a series of plays, concerts, lecture forums and variety shows. More than 800 persons are expected to attend the play, a three-act comedy, which has been seen on the stage and in the movies. Donald T. Bowlend, president of the Players, will appear in the play as Kenneth Rimplegar. Dur-ing the past 10 years, he has taken pait in all but two plays. Alfred Thompson, director of the play, was also a charter mem-ber. Elliot Brennan, who has the male co-lead, joined the group in 1936. Mr. Thompson, a former member of the Thalians at South Side High school, has played the lead role in "Another Language" and "Three Live Ghosts," both produced by the Players. Mr. Brennan formerly played in the Barter Theatre Summer Stock company near Roanoke, Va. Making their initial appear-ances with the Players will be Gertrude Middleworth, Marilyn Fisher, Theodore Lindblad, David Payn and William Ferber, all former members of the Thalians. Miss Middleworth will play the role of Mrs. Rimplegar. She has appeared in dramatic shows at Goddard college, and in Gilbert and Sullivan productions done by the South Shore Light Opera league. She is also known for her work in staging pageants at St. Mark's Methodist church. Charles Goodwin is the stage manager; Sarah Davison, in charge of property; Jean Maccabee, pro-gram; Elizabeth Watts, house; and Marjorie D. Schlueter, publicity. Ushers are the Misses Jeanne Rowe, Frances Siegle, Marjorie Phelps, Elinor Brown, Marjorie D. Schlueter, and Mesdames Robert Ledlie, Edward Prest and Theo-dore Lindblad.
