PHILHARMONIC TO HOLD ANNUAL MUSIC CONTEST
The Review And Star Again To Give Medal Awards The Nassau Daily Review and the Nassau Daily Star will once more of-fer medal awards, in connection with the annual music contests among young people of Nassau county. The project is under the sponsor hip of the Nassau Philharmonic society, with the intent to raise musical stand-ards and to promote musical under-standing throughout the county. The contest is open to soloists on various instruments, and the early auditions will be given April 6, 7 and 8, at centers to be announced. Syllabi and detailed information may be had addressing the registrar of the so-ciety, 48 Hillside avenue, Rockville Centre. Prominent musicians from New York will act as judges. Con-structive criticism but no ratings will be given at the first hearing. Ratings will be given at the second playing, late in April.

in line with its efforts to raise musical ,standards and ,promote musical understanding throughout Nassau County, particularly in the youth of the communities, the Nassau Philharmonic Society will again sponsor auditions for solo-ists on various instruments. Promi-nent musicians from New York will act as judges. The 'first_ playing, at which con-structive criticism only will be given, is scheduled for April 6, 7 and 8, at centers to be announced. The second playing, at which rat-ings will be given, comes the lat-ter part of April. Syllabi and detailed information may be obtained by addressing the Registrar, Nassau Philharmonic Society Auditions, 48 Hillside ave-nue, Rockville Centre.
