A: So are there any other memories from the early days of the house or the school, anything else that stands out to you?

J: Well I did want to remember and tell you about when I was a kid, we’d be playing, particularly on Sundays, I think probably in the summer or the recital season, on Sundays we knew we had to be a little bit quiet, and we had to behave, because there would be recitals here at the house. And big black stretch limousine after limousine would pull up and very well-dressed people would get out, and be milling around and come in for these recitals. And the back French doors, which we still have, would be open and we’d hear the piano music, and even then, I knew it was really very, very nice and beautiful music. That was, you know, a big highlight, that all these limousines would be pulling up.
