Text

Leave it to Editor Stiles of the Observer, of Rockville Centre, to be up to date and just a bit ahead of us others in the game. Maybe it escaped our attention before, but not until last week did we notice the name of Edith McIntosh at the head of the Observer's editorial column as musical editor. So far as we can recollect this is the first newspaper on the Island to have a musical editor. We've heard of society editors, sporting editors (we're all that), and such like on Long Island, but the Observer certainly takes the lead with its lastest in editorial department heads. Maybe, the formation of a choral society in that section of Nassau county, with a Bablyon director, had an enervating influence in determining the adding of this modern journalistic department.
