Musicale Will Benefit Red Cross
The faculty of the Edith McIntosh School of Music will appear as a group in a concert at the South Side High School on Monday, April 7, as a benefit for the Rockville Centre Red Cross. The school, which has held an outstanding place for many years in the educational and musical life of Nassau County is housed in its own building, the Music Center on Hillside Ave. Founder of the Edith McIntosh School of Music, builder of the Music Center, a guiding figure in its work, Miss McIntosh has lived in Rockville Centre since she was a child. She began studying music at 7 and continued uninterruptedly. She is a graduate of Oceanside High School, Oneonta Normal School and New York University, where she received the degrees of Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts. She has studied music with Ernesto Berumen, Cortot and Bert in Paris, Matthay and Craxton in London, accompanying with Frank LaForge and composition with Clement Gale. She studied organ under Dr William C. Carl and Dr. David McK. Williams and is a graduate of the Guilmant Organ School and a fellow of the American Guild of Organists. The faculty personnel includes Musicians of outstanding accom-plishments in their fields
