A June graduate of South Side
High School, Vincent has been a
student of the Edith Mcintosh
School of Music for 12 years. He
has been a pupil of Irma Harter in
piano, and studied theory throughout
his course. He added the study
of organ with Miss Mcintosh two
years ago, and has coached with
Ernesto Berumen, concert pianist,
for "several years.
The young artist has made many
concert appearances on Long island
and in New Yorl$. His most recent
appearance was in a musicale under
the direction of Ernesto Berumen
at the Carl Fischer Concert
Hall in New York in June. An outstanding
performance was his playing
of the Grieg piano concerto
with the South Shore Symphony
Orchestra, under* the baton of Conductor
Howard Lee Koch, as first
prize winner in the annual contest
of the orchestra, at Bay Shore in
if arch.
Vincent Lenti's program tonight
will include the Pathetique Sonata
by Beethoven, a group of Chopin
solos and the first movement of the
Grieg Piano Concerto, with Irma
Harter playing the orchestra part
at the second piano. (His organ
numbers include the Prelude and
Fugue in D minor by J. S. Bach
and a Mendelssohn Sonata movement
and three preludes by Oldroyd.
The recital is open to friends of
the school and of the artist, without
admission cards.
